The Southampton Guildhall Compton pipe
organ is a unique and incredible instrument, which has recently been the subject
of a considerable maintenance and improvement programme.
The organ contains about 4000 pipes, control of which is shared between
the two magnificent polished wood consoles at either side of the auditorium. The
above photos show the organ consoles after their recent restoration.
